WELCOME!

Our services are Sundays at 10 a.m. in the gymnasium at Shelton Elementary.

Where do I park?

Park in the front of the school (entrance closest to the CVS Drug Store)

Where do I enter?

Enter at the front, main entrance of the school. Other doors will not be open. We will have greeters able to direct you.

Why can't I park on the side in the bus area?

This area is used as a loading dock for equipment only. If you are in need of assistance, please inform a greeter and we'll be happy to help!

What do you have for kids?

We love kids! We have trained nursery workers and volunteers for kids ages birth through 5^th grade.

Our NURSERY is for kids ages birth – young 3’s. We need a complete registration form on file. Let us know of any allergies or special needs. Drop off begins at 9:30 a.m.

PRESCHOOL kids (ages 3 – young 5’s) and ELEMENTARY KIDS (grades kindergarten – 5^th grade) will have a great time in our workshops. Register and get a name tag as you enter, but children start out with parents in the Sanctuary for the first part of the service. We use colored flags and name tags to identify age appropriate groups. After the Children’s Message during the service, children will meet in the back of the sanctuary with their adult leader (Shepherd) carrying a flag with their name tag color who will take them to their program.

Parents pick up children after worship in the children’s areas.

If you plan to come this Sunday for the first time with your children, you can print out and complete the registration form at home and bring the completed form with you to speed up the check in process. Preschool Registration Elementary Registration

What time does Sunday School start?

We are a child friendly church and welcome children into our worship services. Children sit with the adult who brings them during the first part of worship. Then during the Children's Moment, the children ages 3-7 are encouraged to come up front for the Children's Message, and then all children are dismissed for Shine Time Sunday School.

Does my child HAVE to leave for Sunday School?

No. Again, children are welcome in worship and if you would rather they stay with you that is certainly fine as well.

I have a reluctant middle schooler, do you have anything for youth?

We have been planning and preparing for youth to feel welcome at Crossroads UMC. We even have a youth lounge for kids in grades 6-12 to hang out and share before worship. Be sure to read the weekly bulletin or check our web space for details of upcoming opportunities. And your ideas and suggestions are welcome as well.

What is the worship style?

You will hear contemporary music from our praise band, but you will also hear and see elements of traditional worship as well. We celebrate communion often. We serve by Intinction. It simply means to take bread from the basket and dip it into the grape juice. You do NOT have to be Methodist to take communion. All who believe in Jesus Christ and are seeking Him are welcome. Our communion bread is always gluten-free so our table is truly open to everyone!

What do I wear?

Be comfortable. You may see jeans and t-shirts as well as suits and ties. This time is for you to connect with God. He loves you just as you are.

Will I be expected to help tear down?

Help is always appreciated, but don’t feel obligated to help. No one is judged for having to leave early or not being able to help.

Where can I meet people and find more information?

Greeters will be throughout the school and wearing name tags. Feel free to ask questions. Also visit our hospitality area before or after worship. We offer refreshments and friendly faces.

Do you have coffee?

Yes! We'll have coffee at our hospitality area.
